THE World Bank Group is offering Internship to international students specialising in economics, finance, human development (public health, education, nutrition, population), social science (anthropology, sociology), agriculture, environment, private sector development and other related fields.

The number of interns hired by the World Bank for a given year is approximately 150-200. Most positions are located in Washington, DC while others are offered in country offices.

To be eligible for an Internship, candidates must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a full-time graduate study program (pursuing a Master’s degree or Ph.D. with plans to return to school full-time).

A posting on the World Bank website says: “Interns will gain exposure to the work of the World Bank Group in the hopes that some will be interested in returning to the Bank for a career after completing their studies.”

Furthermore, the posting says fluency in English is required while relevant work experience, computing skills, as well as knowledge of languages such as French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese, and Chinese are regarded as advantageous.

The Bank Group pays an hourly salary to all interns and, where applicable, provides an allowance towards travel expenses. The internship application deadline is October 31, 2017.
